Crossing of arms when jumping from height

Over the last 5 years the BCF have been collating information regarding best practice for jumping from height into the ocean.

There have been many incidents reported regarding the dislocation of shoulders when jumping into water.  The general conclusion amongst providers has been that these accidents happen when clients do not cross their arms over their chests before entering into the water.

Courses for Surf Life Saving GB

The British Coasteering Federation is now providing courses for Surf Life Saving GB.

Surf Life Saving GB is the awarding body for the highest standard of Beach Lifeguard Qualification in the country, and they are the National Governing Body for Life Saving Sport.

During 2009 a number of Coasteering specialists throughout the UK joined forces with Surf Life Saving GB to help formulate an appropriate Coasteering Award.
